Location: Village Assignments in Northwest Alaska
Job Type: 1099 Locum Tenens Contract
Date Range: ASAP & Ongoing – start date negotiable
Compensation: Daily Rate + On-Call Pay – potential to make $1210.00 per day, ($36,300 per month)!
Key Job Details:
- Assignments:
- Specific rotation dates are flexible – work around your personal life!
- Rotations must be a minimum of 3-4 weeks with a multi-rotation commitment required
- Annual assignments with monthly rotations available
- Schedule:
- Typically, Monday – Friday, 8:00am or 9:00am to 5:00pm
- Some clinics have extended hours until 7:00
- Some clinics may have after-hours walk-ins
- Compensation Breakdown:
- $935.00 daily rate (earned every day on assignment)
- $275.00 daily on-call rate (earned every day when on-call)
- $1402.50 holiday daily rate (limited holidays apply)
- 2 paid travel days (1 arrival, 1 departure) paid at the daily rate
Responsibilities:
- Patient volume, village clinics: Averages 5 per day
- Patient volume, ER: Varies, but typically low
- On-Call Details: On-call for emergencies; may share call with another provider
- Triage Line: Evening triage lines in place to minimize non-emergent call-back
- After-hours urgent care may be required
- Travel between villages while on assignment to provide clinic coverage may be required
Position Requirements:
- Active Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) license with the State of Alaska
- Active BLS & ACLS
- ATLS & PALS preferred, but not required
- Active DEA registration
- COVID vaccination with booster
- Minimum 2 years of solo full-spectrum emergency experience
- Direct experience with medevac and patient care stabilization including intubations, chest tubes, and complicated airways; must have strong suturing skills
- Must be culturally sensitive and willing to embrace the native community and their culture
- Alaska bush experience highly preferred
