Locum Tenens PA or NP – Primary & Emergency Care | Southeast Alaska Winter Wonderland

Location: Southeast Alaska
Job Type: 1099 Locum Tenens Contract
Date Range: December 21st, 2025 – January 4th, 2026
Compensation: Daily Rate + On-Call

Key Job Details: 

  • Schedule:
    • Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm; Saturday 10:00am to 6:00pm
    • 40-hour work week + shared call
  • Compensation Breakdown: 
    • $825.00 daily rate (earned every day on assignment)
    • $250.00 daily on-call rate (earned every day when on-call)
    • $1237.50 daily holiday rate (limited holidays apply)
    • 2 paid travel days (1 arrival, 1 departure), paid at the daily rate

Responsibilities: 

  • Patient Volume: Anywhere from 2-20 per day, largely dependent on tourism
  • On-Call Details: Shared call, 1-3 nights per week; support staff member available to assist

Position Requirements: 

  • Active Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) license with the State of Alaska
  • Active BLS, ACLS & PALS
  • ATLS & DOT preferred, but not required
  • Active DEA registration
  • COVID vaccination
  • Minimum 2 years of emergency medicine experience
  • Direct experience with medevac and patient care stabilization including intubations, chest tubes, and complicated airways; must have strong suturing skills
  • Must be culturally sensitive and willing to embrace the native community and their culture
