5092J – We're looking for highly skilled Nurse Practitioners for a Locum Tenens opportunity in a historic town nestled in Southeast Alaska. In this stunning location, the mountains meet the sea, and natural beauty surrounds you at every turn. This role is primarily Emergency Room focused with some Inpatient shifts, at a well-equipped medical center with a broad range of specialties. Candidates must have solid experience in Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics, and must thrive in a fast-paced environment. Job Type: 1099 Locum Tenens Contract

Compensation: Hourly Rate + Overtime

Key Job Details: 

  • Assignments: Various assignment lengths available
  • Schedule: 
  • ER shifts: 8:00am to 8:00pm
  • Inpatient shifts: 7:00am to 7:00pm
  • Night shifts: 7:00pm to 7:00am
  • ER Back-Up shifts: 8 hours per day and dependent on tourism
  • Compensation Breakdown: 
  • Hourly Rate: $95.00 (earned every hour worked for the first 40 hours/week)
  • Overtime Hourly Rate: $142.50 (earned every hour worked after 40 hours/week)

    Responsibilities: 

    • Patient Volume, ER: Averages 120 patients per day
    • Patient Volume, Inpatient: Up to 25 patients per day
    • Staffing Mix: MDs, APPs, RNs
    • Patients are often Medevac'd in and out

    Position Requirements: 

    • Active Alaska State Nurse Practitioner (NP) license
    • Active ACLS, PALS & ATLS
    • Active DEA registration
    • COVID vaccination with booster
    • Minimum 2 years of solo full-spectrum emergency experience
    • Direct experience with medevac and patient care stabilization including intubations, chest tubes, and complicated airways; must have strong suturing skills
    • Alaska bush experience highly preferred
    • Must be culturally sensitive and willing to embrace the native community and their culture
