Locum Dentist (DDS or DMD) – Southeast Alaska
06254J – Join WMS on a Southeast Alaskan Island adventure! We're seeking a Dentist (DDS or DMD) for a 2-month assignment starting in August. This is a solo-provider assignment with the assistance of a a dedicated support staff team. You'll be providing comprehensive dental care across the lifespan to a community who will truly value and appreciate your expertise and care. Location: Southeast Alaska
Job Type: 1099 Locum Tenens Contract
Date Range: August 24th through October 16th, 2026
Compensation: (make 48k+ in 2 months!)
- $150.00 hourly rate
- $225.00 hourly overtime rate
- $225.00 hourly call-back rate
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm + Call
Job Details:
- Patient Volume: Average 6-8 patients per day
- Staffing Mix: Dental Health Aide Therapist (DHAT), Dental Assistants, Hygienists, Administrative staff
- Caseload: All ages
- Scope of Practice:
- General Dentistry – exams, cleanings, treatment planning, cavities, periodontal disease, etc.
- Restorative Dentistry – treatment for carious, damaged or missing teeth including fillings, crowns, bridges, etc.
- Pediatric Dentistry – focusing on education, prevention, and early intervention
- Emergency Dental Care – toothaches, broken teeth, avulsed teeth, orofacial swelling
- Periodontal Care – gingivial health, gum disease, scaling and root planning
Position Requirements:
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor or Dental Medicine (DMD) degree
- Active Alaska State Dentist Licensure
- National Board Dental Examination (NBDE)
- Active BLS
- DEA certification
