Location: Rural Montana
Job Type: 1099 Locum Tenens Contract
Date Range: Start ASAP pending credentialing. 1-year commitment required (potential to extend!)
Compensation: $80.00 hourly rate (make $160,000+ per year!)
Schedule:
- 8-10 hour shifts between the hours of 7:00am-7:00pm.
- Exact schedule varies based on working location and will be determined upon hire.
Responsibilities: Full outpatient/ambulatory pharmacist
- Screen patient charts to ensure medication orders align with chart notes, labs, vitals, and allergies
- Process new medication orders and fill prescription orders
- Check filled prescription orders for accuracy
- Educate patients on medication therapy and provide patient education
- Collaborate with pharmacy team and providers for timely, accurate pharmaceutical services
- Answer provider questions on drug therapy; question providers when appropriate
- Recognize and respond to life-threatening emergencies and initiate resuscitation measures
- Recognize and respond to adverse drug reactions
- Answer/screen telephone calls, take refill requests, input outside prescriptions into the system
- Perform controlled substance audits as directed
- Administer immunizations (certification required)
- IV admixtures and inpatient drug distribution per Service Unit policies and patient care needs
- Participate in annual safety, infection control, and other mandatory training
Position Requirements:
- Unrestricted pharmacist license – any state
- Active BLS
- Immunization delivery certification preferred
- 1-3 years of clinical pharmacy experience in ambulatory or inpatient care
- PGY-1 residency or equivalent clinical experience preferred
