Primary Care NP/PA – Southeast Alaska – 15k/month
05833B – This Locum Tenens opportunity places you in the heart of beautiful and rural Southeast Alaska where the best of Alaska meets the comfort of modern amenities. We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) who is able to commit to 3+ months to help ensure continuity of care for patients who will truly value your presence. This is a primary care role that is deeply integrated with behavioral health – experience working in behavioral health is highly preferred. You'll work in a supportive environment with a Nurse Practitioner, virtual PMHNP, and support staff, who are dedicated in providing care to this community. Are you ready to make an impact?
Location: Southeast Alaska
Job Type: 1099 Locum Tenens Contract
Date Range: March 2026 and ongoing (3+ month availability required. Possibility to extend).
Compensation:
- $99.00 hourly rate
- $148.50 holiday hourly rate (limited holidays apply)
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
- No Call, No Weekends!
Responsibilities:
- Patient Volume: Averages 3 patients per hour (24/day)
- Staffing Mix: MA, NP, PMHNP (virtual), Receptionists
- This primary care roll is significantly integrated with behavioral health. Providers will be addressing patient's behavioral health concerns while working closely with the full treatment team
- Performing comprehensive assessments and management of acute and chronic conditions (physical and mental health)
- Physical exams, prescribing medication, ordering/interpreting diagnostics
- Medication oversight (including MAR reviews and MAT support)
- Participating in urgent and crisis responses
Position Requirements:
- Active Alaska State Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) license
- Board Certification
- Active BLS
- Active DEA registration
- Minimum 2-years primary care experience
- Experience in behavioral health highly preferred
- Must be culturally sensitive and willing to embrace the native community and their culture
