Locum NP/PA – EM – Southwest MT
06273S – If you're a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant looking for work at a Critical Access Hospital in rural Montana, this assignment may be a great fit! This is a solo-provider position, primarily covering the ER department with some inpatient coverage as well, offering a broad-scope of practice and significant clinical autonomy. Location: Southwest Montana
Job Type: 1099 Locum Tenens Contract
Date Range: July 20th through October 30th, 2026
Schedule:
- Night Shifts: 7:00pm to 7:00am
- 7 on/7 off
Compensation: $102.00 hourly rate (make $8,500.00+ per week!)
Responsibilities:
- Patient Volume, ER: Averages 7-10 patients per 12-hour period
- Patient Volume, Inpatient: Averages 4-7 per day
- Staffing Mix: ER RN on shift
- On Call for ER the entire time and some inpatient rounding
Position Requirements:
- Active Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) license with the State of Montana
- ICEC, if applicable
- Active BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS
- Active DEA registration
- Excellent ER & Hospitalist skills required
- Minimum 2 years solo full-spectrum emergency experience
- Direct experience with medevac and patient care stabilization including intubations, chest tubes, and complicated airways; must have strong suturing skills
- Must be culturally sensitive and willing to embrace the native community and their culture
