We're seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for a long-term Locum Tenens assignment in a welcoming and friendly community. This is a solo-provider assignment with dependable support staff, standard clinic hours, and after-hours call. Location: Southeast Alaska
Job Type: 1099 Locum Tenens Contract
Date Range: October 14th – December 31st, 2025 (potential to extend)
Compensation: Hourly Rate + Overtime + Call + Callback

Key Job Details:
- Schedule:
- Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm
- After hours call (solo-provider site
- Compensation Breakdown:
- $95.00 hourly rate
- $142.50 hourly overtime rate
- $142.50 hourly callback rate
- $225.00 daily on-call rate
Responsibilities:
- Patient Volume, Clinic: Averages 14 per day
- On-Call Details:
- Averages 1-2 patients per call shift
- Triage line managed by nursing staff for after-hours clinical advice
- Staffing Mix: Solo-provider site, 2 MAs, Rural Clinical Health Assistants
Position Requirements:
- Active Alaska State Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) license
- Active BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS
- ALSO training preferred, but not required
- Active DEA registration
- Minimum 2 years of solo full-spectrum emergency experience
- Direct experience with medivac and patient care stabilization including intubation, chest tubes, and complicated airways; must have strong suturing skills
- Alaska bush experience highly preferred
- Must be culturally sensitive and willing to embrace the native community and their culture
