Location: Rural Montana
Job Type: 1099 Locum Tenens Contract
Date Range: Start ASAP pending credentialing. 6-month minimum commitment required (possibility to extend)
Job Specialty: Optometry
Compensation: $120.00 hourly rate (make $115,000+ in 6 months!)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
- No Weekends, Holidays, OT
Responsibilities:
- Patient Volumes: Averages 10-14 per day
- Case Mix: All ages 3 and up, no Opthamologist on-site so Optometrist may see more complex/urgent cases requiring initial evaluation and management prior to referral
- Staffing Mix: Optometrist, Optical Technician, Admin Staff
- Perform comprehensive eye exams and refractions
- Diagnose and manage ocular diseases, visual disorders, and injuries
- Prescribe corrective lenses and therapeutic medications
- Perform and interpret diagnostic testing
- Patient education and preventative eye health counseling
- Coordinate referrals, co-management, and follow-up care with other medical providers
Position Requirements:
- Active, Unrestricted US State Optometry license (any US state accepted!)
- Active BLS, ACLS
- Minimum 2-years of recent clinical experience preferred
- Must be comfortable independently managing urgent/complex ocular conditions until referral or transfer can be arranged
