Location: Northwest Arctic Alaska
Job Type: 1099 Locum Tenens Contract
Date Range: Start as soon as credentialing is complete with ongoing rotations available
Compensation Breakdown: potential to make $1180.00 per day, ($33,000+ per month)!
- $930.00 daily rate (earned every day on assignment)
- $250.00 daily on-call rate (earned every day when on-call)
- $1395.00 holiday daily rate (limited holidays apply)
- 2 paid travel days (1 arrival, 1 departure) paid at the daily rate
Schedule:
- Specific rotation dates are flexible – work around your personal life!
- Typically, Monday – Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
- Shared Call
Responsibilities:
- Patient Volume, Clinic & Call: Varies between villages, but typically low
- Average Patient Cases: Primary Care, Chronic Disease Management, Pediatrics, Prenatal Care, Behavioral Health triage, Emergency stabilization
- On-Call Details: On-call for emergencies; may share call with another provider and/or health aides
Position Requirements:
- Active Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) license with the State of Alaska
- Active BLS & ACLS
- ATLS, PALS, and/or CALS preferred, but not required
- Active DEA registration
- COVID vaccination required
- Minimum 2 years of solo full-spectrum emergency experience
- Direct experience with medevac and patient care stabilization including intubations, chest tubes, and complicated airways; must have strong suturing skills
- Must be culturally sensitive and willing to embrace the native community and their culture
- Alaska bush experience highly preferred
