Locum NP/PA – PC & EM – SW AK Waterfront Village
06053C- We’re seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide Locum Tenens coverage in a small, waterfront community in beautiful Southwest Alaska. In this role, you’ll be working alongside other providers and a team of experienced health aides, delivering care in a close-knit, rural setting. Outside of the clinic, you’ll have the opportunity to take in the natural beauty of the region and experience life in a remote coastal community. Location: Southwest Alaska
Job Type: 1099 Locum Tenens Contract
Date Range: July 8th – August 8th, 2026
Compensation:
- $860.00 daily rate (earned every day on assignment)
- $1290.00 holiday daily rate (limited holidays apply)
- 2 paid travel days, paid at the daily rate (1 arrival, 1 departure)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm and shared call
Responsibilities:
- Patient Volume: Averages 4 per day for Primary Care
- On-Call Details: Call is shared amongst providers, it's likely that you may be on call every other night and on weekends
- Staffing Mix: 1 additional APP, Health Aides
Position Requirements:
- Active Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) license with the State of Alaska
- Active BLS & ACLS
- ATLS & PALS preferred, but not required
- Active DEA registration
- Covid vaccination
- Minimum 2 years of solo full-spectrum emergency experience
- Direct experience with medevac and patient care stabilization including intubations, chest tubes, and complicated airways; must have strong suturing skills
- Alaska bush experience highly preferred
- Must be culturally sensitive and willing to embrace the native community and their culture
