Locum NP/PA – PC & EM – Summer Coverage in SW AK
06054C- We’re looking for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to step into a Locum Tenens role in a remote community in beautiful Southwest Alaska. This position offers the chance to practice full-scope medicine in a collaborative environment, working closely with a dedicated team of providers and local health aides. This is a hands-on role where you’ll see a wide variety of cases and play an important part in supporting the health of the community. Outside of work, you’ll be surrounded by Alaska’s rugged coastline and have the opportunity to experience a truly unique, remote lifestyle.

Job Type: 1099 Locum Tenens Contract
Date Range: June 3rd – August 31st, 2026
Compensation:
- $860.00 daily rate (earned every day on assignment)
- $1290.00 holiday daily rate (limited holidays apply)
- 2 paid travel days, paid at the daily rate (1 arrival, 1 departure)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm and shared call
Responsibilities:
- Patient Volume: Averages 4 per day for Primary Care
- On-Call Details: Call is shared amongst providers, it's likely that you may be on call every other night and on weekends
- Staffing Mix: 1 additional APP, Health Aides
Position Requirements:
- Active Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) license with the State of Alaska
- Active BLS & ACLS
- ATLS & PALS preferred, but not required
- Active DEA registration
- Covid vaccination
- Minimum 2 years of solo full-spectrum emergency experience
- Direct experience with medevac and patient care stabilization including intubations, chest tubes, and complicated airways; must have strong suturing skills
- Alaska bush experience highly preferred
- Must be culturally sensitive and willing to embrace the native community and their culture
