2134SG  Permanent Position for Primary Care Nurse Practitioner in Southcentral Alaska

Location: Southcentral Alaska

WMS client is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner to provide clinic services.

Schedule:

  • Clinic 40 hrs per week, additional hours as needed to complete tasks and duties.
  • No call.   
  • Average patient volume is 12 patients per 24-hour shift on weekdays, and average ER volume is about 5 patients.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and treat patients within the privilege range granted by the PCHS Board, and within the scope of training, capabilities, and license criteria as a health care provider.
  • Be a patient advocate.
  • Coordinate health promotional activities.
  • Provide patient follow-up as necessary for continuity of care.
  • Coordinate care with other health care providers when referrals are necessary.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation regarding patient contacts within (EMR) patient charts.
  • Conduct support groups in subjects related to physical and emotional health.
  • Understands and supports the concept of the Chronic Care Model and the Health Disparities Collaborative

Team Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assume a leadership role for a primary care team
  • Analyze population data to identify high leverage interventions with their patient panel.
  • Assist in facilitating coordination of care
  • Develop and implement a plan of care and recommend interventions to attain optimal patient function
  • Effectively utilize electronic health record (EHR) to document clinical activity and manage patient population
  • Work effectively and cooperatively with other members of Care Team
  • Participates in Care Team training and learning activities

Education, Certification and Experience Requirements:

  • Education: successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Licenses: Active RN and NP license in Alaska, DEA registration and board certified required.
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS.
  • Work Experience: Desired candidates should have three years’ experience in the clinic setting. Others are encourage to apply.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: $125,000 – $135,000 commensurate with experience.

Family Medicine, Perm Position, Full Time, South Central Rural Alaska

WMS client is seeking a Family Medicine Physician for a full-time outpatient position in Southcentral Alaska. This position exists to provide Family Practice medical care to patients of this gorgeous community.

OVERVIEW:

  • Providers work 4 10-hour days (except during orientation phase), generally 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. 
  • Providers rotate Saturday clinic, so if this locum worked Saturday, they’d have a day off in the week, so Saturday would be their 4th day.
  • Patient volumes average 12-15 per day.  Clinic uses EClinical Works for EMR.  Staff mix includes MA's, RN and other providers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide compassionate, professional medical care to patients.
  • Create comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Use EHR system to enter and maintain timely patient data, information, and notes.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members

COMPENSATION and BENEFITS

  • Salary starting at $240,000 and commensurate with experience.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Successful completion of an approved MD or DO Program
  • Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible

  • Experience with Pediatrics or OB/GYN preferred

A WMS client is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner for a full time perm position.  This position is located in the greater Anchorage area. The advanced practice provider (NP) will be responsible for primary care of patients in a family psychiatry/mental health setting. Under the general supervision of the Medical Director, the APRN is responsible for providing direct primary care services and consultation with the clinical, medical, and psychiatric staff. The nearest large city is Anchorage, which is approximately a one-hour drive away. This location offers the perfect combination of breathtaking views and world-class outdoor recreation!

This is an in-clinic, 40-hour-per-week position.

Overview:

  • Full Time
  • Primary Care Only, No Call
  • Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts
  • 10-20 patients/day, depending on if new or established

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct team based family psychiatry/mental health services to persons serviced in clinic
  • Abide by the schedule of hours formulated by clinic
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to use Electronic Medical Record

Basic Requirements

  • MSN and current Alaska APRN license with specialty Family Psychiatric/Mental Health
  • Current prescriptive qualifications under the Controlled Substances Registration Certificate requirement of the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency
  • Certifications: CPR certification must be obtained within 2 weeks of hire. CPI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) certification must be obtained when offered through the agency; may substitute MANDT certificate for CPI
  • Work experience:3 years experience serving individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.
  • Must be able to clear background check 
  • Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19

Medical Director, Full Time, Permanent, SE Alaska Primary Care Clinic

2241SG POSITION OVERVIEW

The Medical Director shall be a fully licensed physician who supervises and participates in the delivery of primary care and emergency services for this facility.

This is a full-time position which reports directly to the facility director, and will require approximately 75% clinical and 25% administrative duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

LEADERSHIP

  • Maintains consistent interaction with the other department directors, providers, staff and community
  • Embraces the customer service standards set by the HEW/MIC (community governing boards)
  • Attends and participates in clinical director meetings at the state level
  • Participates in community meetings if necessary as the medical representative of the facility

QUALITY

  • Maintains and enhances the highest standards of health care delivery to all patients 
  • Presents reports on health and quality improvement matters as required 
  • Participates in facility quality improvement process

OPERATIONS

  • Takes a leadership role in meetings of clinicians and staff
  • Oversees and coordinates provider staffing to insure appropriate coverage, and coordinates locum staffing
  • Maintains patient electronic health records as required by facility document policy
  • Assists with and provides consultation and coordination of care with other providers and staff (physician, mid-level, pharmacists, physical therapists, etc.)

CLINICAL

  • Part of primary care team to participate in chronic and urgent care management
  • Oversees and participates in delivery of all elements of emergency services
  • Participates in the on-call schedule
  • Certified and supervise delivery of MAT services

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Trained in primary care specialty, or other, as approved by the Director and Board
  • Current / active licensure in any US state
  • Licensed or license-eligible by the State of Alaska
  • Obtain and maintain an unrestricted license to practice in Alaska within 6 months of hire
  • Proven ability in clinical practice
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to follow projects through to completion
  • Ability to build consensus and work in a team setting
  • Strong conflict management, negotiation and persuasion skills, professional demeanor, attitude, and motivation
  • Applicant will be required to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Applicant will comply with community personnel policies

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of two years clinical experience post residency
  • Board certified preferred in primary care specialty

This healthcare facility is located on an island in SE Alaska. Beautiful scenery, friendly staff and community, and close proximity to airport and amenities nearby make this a desirable site to experience an Alaskan adventure. This is a four provider site with support staff.

  • Base salary for this position is $325,000, plus additional dependent on experience.
